History of Kia.

Not many people know that Kia has been around for some time. The company got its start by making bicycles. Let's take a trip down memory lane.

Don't forget to visit Concord Kia and check out our inventory.

1944Founding of the Company

 1957The first domestic bicycle produced

1953The first Kia brandmark was designed by overlapping a triangular draft ruler with a gear wheel symbolizing the machine industry and a benzene ring symbolizing the chemical industry.
This brandmark was first applied in the mid-1950s to the front head of the ‘3000’ series bicycle.

1969T-600 Truck

1975Korea's first automobile export

1989Capital

1999Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group formed

2004.03.18Kia’s current CI was developed in conjunction with the rollout of its new global brand strategy and its introduction was timed with the release of the New Sportage.
Because of the high recognition level of Kia’s prior brandmark, a visual touch-up rather than a full redesign of the corporate identity was chosen. The three dimensional oval adds a young and lively feel while the deeper red expresses a more dynamic, sophisticated image.

What goes into making a Kia?

We all enjoy the safety, reliability of driving a Kia. One thing we want to know is what goes on behind the scenes. We have  a quick outline of what the staff at Kia goes through to give you such a wonderful vehicle.

Design:
Body structure design is the skeleton of the vehicle and is very important. It has to be durable, safe, quiet and spacious.

Functional design works on providing safety as well as comfort for the driver and passengers.

Analysis:
NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) analysis. The engineering team at Kia goes through a multitude of tests to look at everything from noise reduction to the smoothness of your vehicles ride.

Durability analysis is done with a virtual computer model. This is used to determine any weakness in the vehicles structure.

Ergonomics Package:
" The process is aimed at maximizing customer comfort and convenience by achieving optimal space, field of visibility, comfort, maneuverability, storage, assembly, and maintenance convenience."

Get prepared to have the best Summer Road Trip Experience!

Summer is a great time for going on road trips and doing fun things. The main part of the road trip is your vehicle. You want to make sure your ride is in good shape before hitting the road. Take a look at the tips below.

·         Schedule a tune-up to help the engine deliver the best balance of power and fuel economy and produce the lowest level of emissions.

·         Check the brake system and make sure the battery connection is clean, tight and corrosion-free.

·         Check filters and fluids, including engine oil, antifreeze/coolant, windshield washer and power steering, brake and transmission fluids. Dirty air filters can waste gas and cause the engine to lose power.

·         Check the hoses and belts and replace if they become cracked, brittle, frayed, loose or show signs of excessive wear. These are critical to the proper functioning of the electrical system, air conditioning, power steering and the cooling system.

·         Check the tires, including tire pressure and tread. Underinflated tires reduce a vehicle’s fuel economy and uneven wear indicates a need for wheel alignment. Tires should also be checked for bulges and bald spots.

·         Check that the gas cap is not damaged, loose or missing to prevent gas from spilling or evaporating.

You can always take your vehicle to Concord Kia or Concord Mitsubishi and we will do all the hard work for you. Schedule your service today.
