1944Founding of the Company

1953The first Kia brandmark was designed by overlapping a triangular draft ruler with a gear wheel symbolizing the machine industry and a benzene ring symbolizing the chemical industry.
This brandmark was first applied in the mid-1950s to the front head of the ‘3000’ series bicycle.

2004.03.18Kia’s current CI was developed in conjunction with the rollout of its new global brand strategy and its introduction was timed with the release of the New Sportage.
Because of the high recognition level of Kia’s prior brandmark, a visual touch-up rather than a full redesign of the corporate identity was chosen. The three dimensional oval adds a young and lively feel while the deeper red expresses a more dynamic, sophisticated image.
